Important Security Update

Beginning March 2020 Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Mozilla will no longer support TLS 1.0 and 1.1 encryption protocols. In preparation for this change the WinFlex IT team performed an update on the evening of January 30, 2020 to remove support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1

As of February 1, 2020 browsers configured to use TLS 1.0 and 1.1 will no longer be able to access WinFlex Web using Internet Explorer 8, 9 or 10 on Windows 8 and 7 without making changes to the browser settings. It is highly recommended users using Internet Explorer 10 or earlier update their browser to ensure they have the latest in browser security features.

If the use of Internet Explorer 8, 9 or 10 is required, the following workaround will allow users to continue using WinFlex Web with their current browser.

Enable TLS 1.2 manually

  1. Open the Tools menu (select the cog near the top-right of Internet Explorer 10), then choose Internet options:
  2. Select the Advanced tab.
  3. Scroll down to the Security section at the bottom of the Settings list.
  4. Select Use TLS 1.1 and Use TLS 1.2.
  5. For extra security, deselect Use SSL 3.0. When complete, your settings should match the following:
  6. Selected: Use TLS 1.0Use TLS 1.1 and Use TLS 1.2 (all three options must be se)
  7. Not selected: Use SSL 2.0 and Use SSL 3.0
  8. Select Apply.
  9. Select OK
