This page offers help on running an illustration using the WinFlex Express feature:
  • Step 1 - Select Product Type
    Select the product type for your illustration. Available product types are Universal Life, Guaranteed Universal Life, Single Premium Immediate Annuity (SPIA) and Term. When the product type is selected, the screen will refresh to show the correct input options for that type.
    To set your default inputs, check the Save Input as Default on the right side of WinFlex Express, just below Step 1. Once an illustration is generated, these inputs will be saved. Next time you enter WinFlex Express or start a new quote, your specified defaults will appear in the input fields.
  • Step 2 - Enter Insured and Quote Information
    Enter Insured Information
    Enter the Insured's Name, Age, Sex, Class, State and Agent.
    • Only five classes are available in WinFlex Express. These are the five standard WinFlex classes: Super Preferred, Preferred, Non-Smoker, Preferred Smoker, Smoker.
    • When you select a state, only products available for that state will appear in the product list.
    • For the SPIA product type, a Rated Age question is available. There is no class question for SPIA products.
    • It is not required that you select an Agent. However, please note, some carriers require that you include an agent to run an illustration. To add an agent, click on the Agents link under the Manage menu on the left. For more information on adding or editing agents, please refer to the WinFlex Web help on Adding Agents.
    • To run an illustration for Joint Products, mark the Include Second Insured checkbox box in the lower left corner of First Insured tab.
      • Once check box is marked a second tab "Second Insured" will appear. Click on "Second Insured" tab to switch focus to second insured information screen.
      • Enter the Second Insured information. Step 4 will be the same for the both insureds.
    • Universal Life and Guaranteed Universal Life
      Enter Solve Type, Face Amount, Annual Premium and Years to Pay Premium.
      • The only Solve Types available on WinFlex Express are No Solve, Solve for Face and Solve for Premium.
      • The Face Amount must be between $100,000 and $999,999,999.
      • Years to Pay Premium must be between 1 and 100.
      • Enter a number or select Endow for Target CV. Target CV is not available when selecting No Solve or running Guaranteed UL products.
    • Single Premium Immediate Annuity (SPIA)
      Enter Solve Type, Single Premium/Initial Benefit, Benefit Mode, Qualified Plan, Cost Basis, Purchase Date, Payout Option Certain Payment Date Benefit Reduction Option (Joint) and Payment to Survivor (Joint).
      • Available Solve Types for SPIA are Solve for Benefit or Solve for Premium. If Solve for Benefit is selected, enter the Single Premium amount. If Solve for Premium is selected, enter the Initial Benefit amount.
      • Available Payout Options in WinFlex Express are Certain Only, Certain & Life, Life Only, Installment Refund and Cash Refund.
      • Certain Period will only be activated for Certain Only and Certain & Life payout options.
      • Benefit Reduction Option and Payment to Survivor(%) are only available when running Joint illustrations.
    • Terms
      Enter Solve Type, Face Amount, Premium Mode and Rider Information.
      • The only available Solve Type for Term is Solve for Premium.
      • The Face Amount must be between $100,000 and $999,999,999.
      • ADB Amount must be between $0 and $500,000.
      • Child Rider Units must be between 1 and 10.
      • The Term MultiPlan report will show premiums for the level term period only. Refer to the Source Ledger for additional information.
  • Step 3 - Select Company and Products
    Click on the [Select Products] button to select up to four companies and products to run in WinFlex Express.
    • Only the companies you have been approved for will show in the Company drop-down list.
    • Products are filtered by state - they will appear only if they are available in the state you have selected.
    • If a second insured check box is marked, only Joint/Survivorship products will appear. To run illustrations for Joint/Survivorship products, click on the Second Insured tab and check the Include Second Insured box.
  • Step 4 - Generate Reports.
    After selecting your products, click Create Illustration to run the WinFlex Express illustration. Once you have run the illustration, click Modify Quote to make changes to your input, or New Quote to return to the input page with your default input.
    • The WinFlex Express Illustrations may take a few moments to run.
    • When the WinFlex Express quote is complete, the Name, DOB, Sex, Class, State, Company and Product will be shown.
    • Click on the Product Reports link to view or print your illustration. The illustration will include the Source Ledger and the WinFlex Ledger concept
    • You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print reports.
    Please Note: After running your illustration, you can pre-populate the full version of WinFlex Web with your WinFlex Express input to run additional illustrations. To launch the full version of WinFlex Web, click the click here link below the box containing the information on your WinFlex Express quote. After switching to the full version of WinFlex Web, you will want to make sure that all of the WinFlex tabs contain the correct information you want to run for your illustration. All of the input not specified in WinFlex Express will be set to the products' default answers.
